We had a wonderful time staying at Lovedale cottages. the place was rustic and full of character. The owner was lovely and accommodating too. The cottage was clean, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen well resourced and the aircon was very much appreciated due to it being a hot weekend. A lovely food basket of items for breakfast was included which was also great. We were also offered a late check out which was also great! Excellent location. Very close to the Hunter Valley Gardens and the hot air ballooning meeting point.

I was surprised at the generosity of the supplies for breakfast. I found the whole cottage so comfortable and clean. After really hectic days, it was so nice to come home to peace and quiet. It was so relaxing, sitting out on the sizable balcony having a much needed break. Even though the days were extremely hot, the air conditioning worked so quickly and the fan in the bedroom was very welcomed. I think for the area , Lovedale cottages are easily accessible, you could not go past these cabins for value and comfort.

Peaceful and comfy
Bread, dozen eggs, bacon, juice, milk, cereal, butter and tea and coffee!
Perfect. Our cabin was cute, and quiet, we weren’t far from tennis court and
pool, and could not hear them playing while inside our cottage. The Bed was
comfortable, and we slept well. Beautiful view off the back deck from a
comfy lounge. Paul and Rosie gave us valuable information to help us
organise transport to and from Summersalt Festival.
There was nothing we didn’t like

Beautiful quaint place, away from everything. I loved that there were little
activities like tennis and golf and a swimming pool there. Loved everything
it had to offer.

Great family stay
Rustic cottage with character and everything we needed for our family
getaway. Set next to the national park you can enjoy privacy in a lovely
bush land area. Play bush golf, tennis, swim and make yourself at home in
the roomy cottages. Comfortable beds, large spa baths and front and rear
verandas add to your stay. BBQ under carport got a good workout. Breakfast
items provided were appreciated by our group of 4 adults and 4 children.

Such a relaxing place to stay
Loved how relaxing and quiet it was staying here. Was like a step back in
time, staying at Nana’s for the weekend. The lounge and table and chairs on
the back porch was our favourite place, just relaxing with a book and glass
of wine (or coffee first thing in the morning), with the birds and
occasional kangaroo hopping past, and the national park bordering the
property. Breakfast supplies were great, just what you need for a day out.
Would definitely stay here again

Quirky, quaint and highly recommended for a restful country getaway.
The weather was not particularly good at the time of our stay, so the
‘Norseman’ wood heater was very useful – it kept the whole space snug and
warm. Paul delivered wood every day and after I lit the fire on the first
day, I managed to keep it burning for the whole period of our 3 night stay.
The location was very quiet and peaceful, about 1km down Brickmans Lane and
well away from the main road. so we had a restful stay. The cottages are
very close to the Werakata National Park where there are some nice walking
trails. The bird life was varied, with waterfowl on the lake and common
Australian birds were abundant. we saw parrots, cockatoos, wrens, butcher
birds and many other species.

Couple of nights away
Lovely peaceful spot. The beautiful cabin was spacious and had everything we
could possibly need. The bed was super comfy and warm. Loved the spa bath,
that was awesome! Everything was clean and tidy. And the brekky supplied was
a nice bonus, we were expecting cereal and were surprised with bacon and
eggs! It was so lovely to sit on the deck and have a coffee early mornings
and watch the birds and a couple of roos. The pool was great too, and we had
a crack at tennis. Wished we had of booked for longer, but we will next
time!

Beautiful moment in family far from the city. We celebrated our girls birthdays.

Perfect place for our wedding anniversary. Thanks very much.
Love the peace and quiet, great location and rustic cabin with lots of
little touches.
16.9.24
The cabin was set in a very quiet area and positioned east/west basically.
Very comfortable inside with a fireplace and air conditioner. The bedroom
was very nice and it had a great shower/spar in the bathroom. The inside was
decorated nicely with bits and pieces. The bonus was the provision of
Breakfast items. A BBQ was located in the garage. We will definitely try and
stay again.
Nothing not to like about the cabinet.

Gen X’er stepping back into a magical cottage from my past.
Like stepping back into my grandma’s house with old furniture, teapots and
figurines. Slow combustion fire was mesmerising and gave a magical ambiance
to our evenings. Hosts were helpful and lovely to deal with.

Putting the love in Lovedale Cottages – cosy cottages in beautiful
surroundings.
Rosie and Paul have clearly poured a lot of love into their cottages. The
breakfast hamper was amazing! The amount of crockery and cookware in the
kitchen was plentiful – you don’t really need to bring anything. Bathroom
supplies were also included. The bed has an electric blanket and there’s
additional blankets to ensure you never get cold. The cottages are
beautifully rustic and you feel a million miles away from the hustle and
bustle of life, but yet you’re still close to wineries and much more. Having
a fireplace in winter is simply magical and Paul ensures there is plenty of
firewood. Hudson the dog is the superstar on site for sure. I highly
recommend the Lovedale Cottages for an escape into serenity with a
soundtrack of birds singing, ducks quacking and frogs croaking.

Love, love, love Lovedale Cottages
So incredibly quiet and yet a great breakfast and coffee were only five
minutes away. We could’ve cooked our own at home as hosts left more than
enough eggs, bacon, bread and assorted cereals for a fabulous breakfast, but
we hit the road early to beat the weekend crowds to the nearby wineries.
Lovedale cottages are centrally located for a weekend. Will stay again.
Sandra – 30.6.24
Had a lovely stay with family and friends for my birthday weekend. The grandkids loved playing in the pool and on the tennis courts, the amenities are definitely a hit. The cold weather doesn’t stop you from exploring this rustic environment. Everything that was supplied was wonderful breakfast, jams, coffee etc. The log fire is definitely inviting and cozy, would stay again.
Glenn – 16.6.24

ROMANTIC, BRILLIANT, VALUE FOR MONEY and BREATHTAKING… WE WILL BE BACK that is for sure The breakfast that was left for us was delicious 😋 and the bread was super fresh. The cottage was FABULOUS, we loved every part of our stay and didn’t want our time to end. The fire place was AMAZING and the facilities were 10/10. It was peaceful and just PERFECT. The directions and information sheet was spot on and extremely helpful. We were also offered a late check out which was also fantastic… I also left my diamond earings behind and the owners have them to return to me… honesty there 🙏

This is our 4th time staying at Lovedale Cottages. Location is great and the cottage is comfortable and contains everything you need for a relaxing stay, including a very generous breakfast.

Perfection
Fabulous little private cottages with a bush outlook, close to all the wineries, lots of special ci rage touches, lovely fire and spa too
Andrew – 21.5.24
Wonderful stay in a rustic cabin. Facilities were wonderful- would definitely stay again. We were provided an exceptional breakfast in the cabin for our stay- there was ample food, milk, condiments, fresh eggs & bread. The cabin was very clean, had a fantastic rustic feel and a lovely log burner. We stayed in Cabin 7 and it looked to be the brightest and spacious. Very good value for money for Accom in the Hunter. Had some fun around the property with the activities provided ( putt putt, tennis, bowls, indoor heated pool, golf )
Emma – 26.5.24
Had a wonderful 3 night stay, lovely accommodation with breakfast included. Tranquil setting, space between cabins, good location, relaxing atmosphere, rustic cabins but all the mod cons

Back again
Love the cottages, the fire, nostalgic ambience and the peace. Love the location, husband has had surgery and needed the quiet to heal and relax so the location was ideal to stop him being tempted to gallivant around the countryside. Love the bush golf, proved again golf is not my thing 😂 lost my ball on way to the 4th. Love the big breakfast package, always a treat. Nah can’t complain nothing to complain about! Love, love, love Lovedale Cottages!
Leaving so soon!! If I could afford it I’d take up permanent residence.
Lana – 10.5.24
My partner and I had such a relaxing getaway here. It’s so quiet, peaceful, lots of native birds, wallabies, and beautiful night sky full of stars. Sunset from their large pond is beautiful. Corner spa was well used and the breakfast supplies were awesome. We also enjoyed the indoor pool and mini putt putt. Rose & Paul are super friendly, gave us a whole pack of Panadol one night my partner had a headache. Yes it’s rustic and older but that’s the charm of the place. All the back porches are private facing the bush. Clean, cozy, warm nights in front of the fireplace watching a DVD (there was lots to choose from) with a glass of local wine, total bliss!
Annette – 20.4.24
A secluded, rustic escape with plenty to keep the family occupied.
Stayed for three nights with our 7 and 9 year old grandsons. They had a ball. Enjoyed tennis and golf, bocce, lots of open space surrounded by bush. Boys devoured the supplied breakfast cereals and we enjoyed the bacon and eggs. Beds were comfortable and quality sheets and towels were appreciated. Cottage is rustic and quirky but comfortable. Kitchen was basic but had everything we needed although we did bring a sandwich toaster. We loved the serenity and sitting on the veranda enjoying the sunset with a glass of Hunter Valley wine was most relaxing. Communication with owners before and during our stay was excellent.
All good and as expected from advertising photos and reviews.
Kate – 18.4.24
A bush cottage with some quirky recycled features in a really hand location.
The provisions for self-cater breakfast were handy and more than adequate; bacon and eggs, juice, coffee, cereals, bread spreads and milk. The location was very convenient to Lovedale and Pokolbin area.

We would happily return to Lovedale cottage any day Location was great and breakfast was awesome . The cottage has a lot of character , welcoming and warm , a lot of seating and enough appliances to feel at home . ( dishwasher , micro wave etc) Antique furniture , tables , buffet and beds are so pretty and comfortable. Beautiful stained glass windows in all cottages is a wow! We really enjoyed our stay and my husband and daughter enjoyed having a hit of golf on the property.
Andrew – 29.3.24
Unique character filled cottage in a private bush setting with all mod cons Inside was perfectly clean and tidy, kitchen crockery and utensils very clean. The combination of rustic settlers cottage style with 1950’s to 60’s furnishing was unique and appealing. Spa bath a big bonus. Big deck area for relaxing and good levels of privacy were also appreciated

Hidden gem
It was a awesome little rustic cottage. Growing up on a farm brought a lot of awesome memories as a kid. Breakfast hamper was really good . The host left it in the fridge for me as I was arriving late and had to leave early for work . Really good stay will do again.
A lovely cottage! Value for money! Highly recommend! The cottage had everything you need! I didn’t expect the eggs, loaf of bread, butter, milk, cereal/oats! Only 10 minutes drive to Pokolbin.

Thank you lovely spot for peaceful stay in nature Breakfast basket was exceptional. So good to have this available and have breakfast on the verandah watching the sunrise through the trees. Fabulous!

It was a great, peaceful stay. The amenities were rustic and a great country feel. peace, the tranquility, location – close to town and other attractions, the breakfast was amazing, the size of the cabin was great. The cabin was clean and well maintained. The owners/managers provided us with a great service. There was nothing we could fault.
October 2023
The cottage was well equipped with all you need including a fabulous selection for breakfast. Having a cuppa on the veranda watching the sunrise through the trees is serene. The cottage has a selection of books to read while relaxing. A morning walk around the property on the golf course is stunning. The owners dog may even join you for a walk. Totally private and peaceful.

There’s so many reasons to Lovedale. My 3rd time here because it has everything you could ever need & more to relax & unwind the mind!
Loved the breakfast offerings farm fresh eggs, beautiful bread, butter, cereals, porridge, juice, milk, plunger and instant coffee, tea and bacon! Could not believe how much there was! needless to say we almost ate the lot! Loved the golf at the Royal Lovedale Bush Course, indoor pool and tennis court. Loved the tranquility, spa bath, local wineries we tried Thirsty Palette, Allandale and restaurants The Deck Cafe, Jimmy Joans. Rosie, Paul and Hudson the friendly doggo were perfect hosts! There’s so many reasons to Lovedale.

September 2023
Peaceful and stress-free retreat from city life. Lovedale Cottages is located in a quiet area surrounded by nature, and at the same time very close to almost every activity we wanted to do in the Hunter Valley. The furthest we drove was 20 minutes. Inside the cottage there is just about every facility you could ask for, including heated blankets for cold nights, and the breakfast groceries included with the stay made morning so much easier. Land around the cottages has also been turned into a makeshift golf course, which is a very cool touch! The owners of the property are friendly and are always available if you need help.
September 2023
Just spent two nights here. Lovely rustic cottage with a very generous breakfast hamper which we couldn’t fault. Bacon, eggs, bread, cereal, fruit juice, milk etc.etc. Lovely wood fire with plenty of wood provided daily.
Reverse cycle air conditioner as back up for those cold nights. Electric blanket provided and a corner spa bath to warm you up. Really comfortable bed. Lots of outdoor seating front and back. Would recommend these cabins for couples or families. Great location for wineries and restaurants.
July 2023
Second time we been back and definitely not the last. We love it here. It’s so peaceful with serene surroundings and lots of privacy. The cabins are very nicely decorated, clean and spacious. Very generous with breakfast supplies and tea & coffee. The best part is being able to sit together in the veranda at night and just enjoy the space. We’ll definitely be back!
Jasmine – January 8, 2023
A lovely spot, quietly tucked away but still close enough to everything. Would highly recommend!
Nathan – December, 2022
Awesome place. Thank you so much Rosei & Paul for your hospitality & being so generous. We absolutely loved our cottage, such a nice change from same old hotels etc.
Each cottage looks a picture of romance. Each cottage is away just enough to feel you are the only one’s there. We loved the old style inside & out. Log fire in the evening, spa bath, bottle of wine from one of the wineries, what more could you ask for.
Breakfast was ample, & Paul brought firewood everyday all we had to do was just relax & injoy our surrounds in & out.
Paul also allowed us to have our family over &offered the use of the pool & a cottage to use for a family BBQ. Thank you so much for being so generous.
We will definitely be back no doubt about that. Thank you so much!
Graham & Kim – October 24, 2022
Had a great stay in cabin 7 celebrating the wife’s birthday. This is the newest of the cabins overlooking your own golf green with a lovely view down to the creek from the rear veranda.
A perfect location which is close to many wineries and restaurants and only a short distance to town, or is a great little private getaway if that’s what you want with your own full kitchen and generous hamper on arrival.
Can’t wait to go back again.
October 10, 2022
Perfect location and the best hosts. The cottage was amazing, quality breakfast supplied, open fire with endless supply of wood. For us, a comfy bed is a must and this was like sleeping in our own bed, will definitely be back. The spa in the cottage was also sensational.

My husband and I stayed at Lovedale Cottages for 2 nights. From the minute we arrived we were so surprised with the beautiful surroundings, and the cute little cottages. There was enough food in the fridge for the time we were visiting. Plenty of activities were available – tennis, golf, putt putt, heated pool or just relaxing on the verandah listening to the birds.
Rosie, Paul and Hudson the dog were so welcoming.
We will definately be back
Tania – May 10, 2022
Lovedale Cottages is a peaceful setting for any type of celebration or get away. We had 4 cabins including the barn where we spent lots of happy hours eating, drinking and chatting with other members of our group between seeing the sights of the Hunter Valley. We loved the indoor heated pool as a way of getting some exercise and helping the kids fill some time while it was raining. Both days we had plenty of food in our supplied hampers to feed everyone a cooked breakfast, and there was plenty left over at the end of our stay.
I highly recommend Lovedale Cottages to anyone and everyone.
Bernadette – May 1, 2022
Gorgeous quaint, peaceful and cozy space! Amazing vintage decor and farm fresh brekky provided! We absolutely loved the wood burning fire and opportunity to recharge in the bush yet still so close to all the vineyards of the Hunter!’

“I would not stay anywhere else!!!!! I have been staying at Lovedale Cottages since the beginning, when Paul had only just built Cottage number one. Every two years I have attended the Lovedale Long Lunch, I celebrated my 50th Birthday there (we booked out the whole place and had a great weekend). We have also enjoyed a few weekends at other times with different friends, who all fall in love with the cottages and its surroundings. Paul and Rosie are always fantastic hosts. xoxoxo”

“Paradise in Wine Country.
We have stayed at Lovedale Cottages on two occasions the most recent being 15th & 16th January 2020. Lovedale cottages are set against bush land on a large open section. The cottages are spaced far enough apart so that you aren’t disturbed by your neighbours.
There is a golf course and swimming pool for guests to use.
The cottages ooze rustic charm and are large and comfortable. Two couples stayed in our cottage over two days and we each had our own modern en-suite attached to large bedrooms with comfortable beds.
The kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils you need to cook your own meals and each cottage comes with eggs, bacon and fresh bread supplied. There is also a BBQ available in each cottage. Our cottage had a large back deck area where you can sit and relax and enjoy the tranquillity.
The owners Paul & Rosie are great hosts and we found them extremely easy to deal with. The booking process and check in was seamless. We absolutely loved it here and in my opinion it is the one of the best accommodation options in the Hunter Valley.””
Rachel – October 27, 2019
“My partner and I just spent 5 days in one of these amazing cottages. Super relaxing and quiet property, the cabins are secluded and private.
The owners Paul and Rosie were so accommodating, we arrived late so our cabin was ready for us with the lights on so we didn’t get lost! They also provided breakfast for us for the following day which we enjoyed outside on the verandah overlooking the bush land in company of their friendly chooks. The heated pool and tennis courts were an added bonus, as well as the spa in our room. The property is also a short distance from the wineries, restaurants and activities such as horse riding. We had a great stay, we will definitely be back!”

“Great value accomodation for a large group of friends
I recently organized a weekend away in the Hunter Valley for a bucks part and found Lovedale Cottages to be one of the best value options for 8 friends. We stayed in the 3 bedroom cottage, with 2 queen rooms, and a bunk, single and double in the remaining room. The rooms had blackout shutters which ensured an excellent night sleep. There were two ample bathrooms, a large living area, well equipped kitchen and large outdoor decking area with tables and seating for entertaining.
The cottage had a rustic aesthetic and was decked out accordingly and was completed by visits from the animals on the site, Aussie the dog – very friendly – and the chickens. Mobile internet in the area, and NBN aren’t especially reliable so be ready to live life offline for a bit! Some of the plug sockets in the rooms are a little recessed so may be worth bringing an extension cord or charging devices in the living area.
Paul and Rosie were excellent hosts, providing a large supply of eggs, bacon, juice and bread for breakfast. They were also extremely helpful during the booking process and up until arrival, providing assistance over email and phone. The location is 10 minutes from Cessnock which has all the amenities you could need, and is well known by taxi companies and local tours when being picked up. I hope to stay at Lovedale Cottages again next time I’m in the Hunter Valley.”
Amie – October 16, 2019
“We just had a hens weekend as a group of 12 and stayed in the Country Barn. It was a pleasure to deal with Paul and Rosie to make our booking, they gave helpful advice for the planning of the weekend, and were always lovely and friendly. you can tell their priority is to provide a brilliant experience.
Thanks again! The place itself is picturesque, in a lovely and convenient location, and the accommodation is very comfortable and charming. This was my second stay at Lovedale Cottages and it won’t be my last! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”

“Spent a long weekend away in July celebrating a birthday with family at Lovedale Cottages.
Accommodation was fantastic everything was fresh and clean. We stayed in the barn, which was very rustic and had a great time in front of the fire place, which was always stocked with plenty of timber. We played tennis and putt putt. The breakfast supplied by Rosie and Paul was delicious. Would highly recommend Lovedale Cottages.”
Stefanie – November 20, 2017
“We stayed in the Lovedale Cottages for a weekend getaway just recently in the 3 bedroom homestead. The cottage was lovely, quaint and peaceful. We were all pleasantly surprised at all the little extras that were supplied. The owners just about thought of everything especially the breakfast hamper. It was very quaint and homey with a real rustic feel.
It was a great location and very accessible to everything in the area especially for the wineries. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a comfortable cottage in the Hunter Valley region.
To quote The Castle – “How’s the serenity? So much serenity.”
Garry – January 16 2019
“Very quaint cottages away from it all..at a ridiculously low price…. nothing was too much trouble for our hosts.
The local wildlife abounds. Enjoyed our week at Lovedale Cottages immensely. it’s very close to all that the Hunter Wine Region has to offer.”
Hope – December 21, 2019
“We loved our 4 nights at Lovedale Cottages! So relaxing to sit on the porch listening to the birds in the midst of the bush. We enjoyed daily visits from the chooks and the cheeky rooster — very friendly! We even saw a wallaby drink from the pond! Rosie and Paul went above and beyond and we enjoyed their company. All Around the Vines picked us up at our doorstep for a lovely tour that was very reasonable. Highly recommend this “rustic” experience!”

“We stayed in a one bedroom cottage over the Christmas weekend. The cottage was beautifully decorated with a rustic touch. The location is perfect with just a few minutes to Pokolbin and Cessnock and yet very quiet. The fridge was stocked with all the breakfast essentials. The cabins are spaced apart from each other providing adequate privacy from other guests. We would love to return for another stay.”

“Sorry I didn’t get the chance to respond earlier, but thank you so much for providing all that information, made it really helpful in finding the place
in the dark on Friday night, we had no trouble at all. Also really appreciated the venue recommendations as originally we were only coming for a balloon ride on the Saturday and decided last minute to make a weekend of it.
We really enjoyed our stay with you guys, the cottage was just beautiful!
Thank you for having us we will definitely be back.”
